The collections

Each collection is a strain: a number, a world, a story of its own. The style changes every time. The skull never does.

Natural History Cabinet

In 1887, a nameless naturalist inherits a cabinet that has sat closed for two generations. He sets out to catalogue every piece inside: human skulls, deer skulls, birds of prey, felines, each numbered, dated, annotated in a tight hand in the margin.

Vanitas

In the 17th century, Dutch painters would place a skull next to a guttering candle and a wilting flower, to say one thing to whoever looked at the canvas: time is passing, so live while you still have it.

Contours

Contours has no legend to tell, just one line to hold: the one that's left once you strip away everything else. A single continuous stroke, a skull reduced to its essentials, a short phrase set beneath it like a note in a notebook.
